The House We Inherit
Written by Sarah Majland
Created by the company
In a small town in America, the Wrights reside. Timothy Wright lives alone in his childhood home after taking it over from his deceased parents - and due to an innate heart defect he only has a couple months left to live.
After Timmy falls down the stairs and breaks his leg, his adoptive brother, Kevin, and their older sister, Helena, all find themselves reunited in their childhood home. But why are Kevin and Helena not talking? And what is up with her incessant need to clean the house?
The House We Inherit is a story about love, loss, family and the impact of the truth. It examines how we are conditioned by both the darkest and the dearest parts of our upbringing - and how we can find a way to move on.

A Woman On Fire
Written by Sarah Majland
Directed by Casper Aagard
Harper has everything - she is an aspiring writer, she has a husband who loves her, a big house and a beautiful daughter. But it doesn’t take much digging under the surface to realise that something is rotten.
A Woman On Fire is a story about the decline of a woman who is full of shame and heartbreak, about people who are too proud to acknowledge their problems and the deceptiveness of human nature. Ultimately it asks the question: what happens when you are too proud or too scared to reach out and ask for help?
A story ranging over class, sexuality and gender, it touches on important themes such as postpartum depression, mental health, addiction, betrayal, sexuality, purpose and ambition.

A Woman Called Girl
Written by Milja Marttila
Directed by Sarah Majland
One woman. Four girls. A birthday party to arrange and a pressing question: How do you obtain perfection when people are stupid and nasty and the world is always against you? And how is it possible that you are actually even more stupid and nasty than all the rest of them together? A Woman Called Girl is an absolute freak - and she has (none of) the answers.
A Woman Called Girl is a completely new piece of work, combining new writing and original music with devised physical elements. The performance examines themes of girlhood, identity, self-hatred and mental health problems through dark comedy. It asks: what makes young women hate themselves and who is to blame for that - if anyone?
“You’re too quiet. Quiet people won’t make it in life. You need to cheer up.”
A Woman Called Girl was originally written and performed for East 15’s International Festival 2022. The production played the Camden Fringe Festival 2023 at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre in collaboration with Milja Marttila and opened to critical acclaim.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “A simply stunning piece of theatre” - London Pub Theatres
A Standing Ovation Award (Nomination)
"A Woman Called Girl is the debut production from London based theatre group Quid Pro Quo Theatre and based on their work here it most definitely won’t be their last." - London Pub Theatres
"Quid Pro Quo Theatre’s well-rehearsed play certainly doesn’t lack ambition in its examination of the pressures that young women are under to be perfect. A Woman Called Girl is a slick production and the original music by Öncel Camci is certainly effective in establishing the tenor for the debates." - The Reviews Hub
The Summer After Dad Died
Written by Sarah Majland
Directed by Casper Aagard
“I think all we can do is try to be better than our parents. In fact, I think it’s our responsibility. If only we do that, perhaps it’s not that hopeless. ”
The Summer After Dad Died is a story about a torn-up family facing the hardships of the past in the wake of the death of the family patriarch. With a portrait of 1980's Denmark as the backdrop, The Summer After Dad Died touches upon themes such as generational trauma, identity, sexuality, parenthood, love, adultery and betrayal. It is a story about all the awful things that we do to each other - and how we can choose to be better. It asks the question: why are we here, and how should we put the time that we are given to use.
It is summer in Denmark, and the year is 1985. The country is in deep financial crisis, and the world seems to be offering nothing but bad news.
Following the death of their father, three sisters and their families get together in their old family summer house for a week of vacation - but emotions run high, and it is hard not to slip into old patterns. Soon, the tension starts growing, and the warm summer air tightens as secrets and betrayal rise to the surface
